Autumn bounty – it’s a DIY micropub at the moment on the farm, we’ve got a huge crop of hops, grapes, cider apples, pears and quince. It’s a bumper crop, we’ve also got Bramleys and 6 varieties of eating apple. Our autumn harvest isn’t commercial, we just have a few trees of these left from the days when the farm was growing fruit for the London market, we had smaller quantities of each variety to sell fresh produce all year round – at one point in addition to all the fruit we even grew runner beans!
Our produce went to the local and London markets in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Commercially now we are still producing cherries, raspberries and gooseberries.
The autumn harvest begins soon, we’ll start pressing and picking in October, could still be pressing and pickling in November

Our Orchard glamping guests are welcome to pick their own, it’s a lovely time of year for strolling around the orchard nibbling along the way!
