A warm winter welcome amidst the pruning

Winter in the orchard is a busy time with all the trees needing pruning, cherries need space, so any dead wood and crossed branches have to be pruned to allow light into the centre of the tree and space for healthy buds to form. This can only be done by hand and each tree is different, Rob and Stewart have started at either end of the orchard and hope to meet in the middle in late February!

Meanwhile the 2 pods have had their winter deep clean are ready for bookings, double glazing, underfloor heating and a fire pit means they are definitely a cosy winter retreat for playing games, enjoying the view or visiting our local pubs with their hearty menus, warm welcomes and roaring log fires. Cold crisp mornings were made for walking, and we have miles of footpaths on our doorstep ready for exploring with either 4 legs or 2!
