We are now half way through our cherry harvest, it’s been a great crop, but the hot weather has brought everything on at the same time so we are picking some of the varieties not normally ready until later in July – which means a huge choice in the shop, often 4 varieties on the same day. Sunburst has been popular and we have new converts to our white cherries, the ‘Naps’ have long been a favourite of the older generation who remember when they were abundant throughout Kent.  Now just a few orchards remain, you won’t see them in the supermarkets, so visit the shop over the next couple of weeks to try them for yourselves.

It’s a great time to stay, both pods are surrounded by fruit, the orchard is still green and leafy and each pod is tucked away for the peaceful, private enjoyment of it’s occupants, whether its for dining alfresco, enjoying a BBQ, drinks by your firepit, playing cards in dappled shade or simply sunbathing with a book. We love to share the Orchard at this time of year.
